The pain relief from this oil has been found to be superior not only to most natural remedies but even the pharmaceuticals that are commonly used today. Pardon the pun, but what I’m talking about isn’t snake oil. It’s the oil of the curry plant – Helichrysum Italicum.
Due to the warm yellow flowers and their fragrance, which is similar to curry, this plant Is known as the curry plant, otherwise, the curry comes from another plant.
It is native to Europe and mostly cultivated in France, although it can be found in a few regions more as well. There are many different varieties of helichrysum essential oil, so make sure you choose the one coming from this specific plant.
Most pain relievers have negative side effects. For instance, acetaminophen (Tylenol) dramatically destroys the liver, as well as ibuprofen (Advil).
On the other hand, Helichrysum essential oil is completely safe to use since it is non-irritating, non-toxic, and no-sensitizing.
Helichrysum extract is effective at:
- Provides relaxation of the tight muscles and connective tissue
- Promoting cellular regeneration
- Prevents bruising and blood clots
- Reducing inflammation and removing toxins
You’ll find many pharmaceuticals only achieve one or two of these effects. For instance, aspirin only works when targeting inflammation and thinning blood. As a result, helichrysum delivers unparalleled pain relief. It is used topically and it works for pain in the muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments.I like to use this essential oil for anything from back pain to bruises and sprains.
HOW TO USE IT?
This oil can be used in two ways, depending on the severity of the pain.
In cases of acute pain like twisted ankle or burn, apply undiluted oil onto the affected area. After the injury has calmed down, you’ll want to dilute the amount you apply to about 20% with a ‘carrier’ oil such as Jojoba (olive oil can also work here),and use it to massage the spot until it is completely healed.
For arthritis, mix it with ginger and/or black pepper essential oils to create a burning sensation which will improve blood circulation and soothe the pain. This would be great for certain cases of arthritis bringing both pain relief and improving circulation to the affected area.
Note: Make sure you check the labels when mixing oils, as some of them may be toxic at higher concentrations. Unlike helichrysum, some essential oils can be toxic at higher concentrations or when used frequently.Although helichrysum doesn’t provide any side-effects,however, you should not apply it on open wounds, as It may interfere with the natural clotting of the body, or if you use blood thinners.
