Every single person seeks for simple, new ways to improve their appearance. For most women, makeup is a life-saver. For others, makeup just isn’t enough. Tons of beauty procedures and treatments exist out there that women undergo to feel more beautiful and regain their self esteem. For instance– eyelash extensions. The name is self-explanatory – extensions for your eyelashes. Certain women experience insecurities when it comes to the length of their eyelashes and wish to extend and to thicken them up. Constantly looking for a miracle mascara and failing to find it makes them turn to extensions.
While it sounds super convenient, there’s a lot of things people need to know before getting this procedure done – like, you can’t wash your face or sleep normally while you have them on. But, it’s also important to know who you’re going to for the procedure and if they are good at it.If you don’t, you can be in for a very rude awakening – like, this one woman from Australia who had gotten eyelash extensions done and had a horror-story outcome.
According to Daily Mail, one woman walked into a salon in Australia – Emmaculate Beauty – looking to get touch ups on her extensions. While the salon is known for this procedure, when they looked at the woman’s eyelashes – they were shocked to see that her eyelids were infected and inflamed. Salon owner Emma Dhanjal wrote on Facebook:
Her natural lashes are sooooo damaged from the place she has been having her lashes done, they were falling out when I touched them with the tweezers. This should NEVER ever happen to your lashes, please do not be scared of having lash extensions applied, if you do your research and go to the right place your lash extensions can be applied for years and years without having a break.
While any procedure you do can be risky, most women usually don’t pay much attention when it comes to something like this because it’s not as though you’re getting “surgery.” However, any procedure in which they use glues or chemicals on you, especially near an area as sensitive as your eyes and eyelids, it’s important to do your research and find out side effects and possible bad outcomes. This woman basically lost the majority of her natural eyelashes because she went to a salon that was not licensed properly in doing eyelash extensions.
It’s important to know who you’re going to and the results other people have had – so, my advice would be to look the salon or technician up online and read several reviews before going there. Or, if anyone you know has gotten the procedure done – ask for a recommendation. Never go somewhere just because it’s less expensive than somewhere else. Most times, you need to pay more to get better products.
